I knew it was coming

Phelps emphatically denies doping allegations

Are we so jaded that we do not believe anyone can excell through hard work and talent? Or have the ethics of our society gone so far down hill that cheating is assumed because it is all pervasive?
There may well be some of both going on in these questions to Mr. Phelps, I have seen many studies purporting to show that a great number of people feel that cheating can be okay, but I am going to go out on a limb here and blame the media.
All of the good news out of Beijing was just too darn boring for someone so they decided to ask about allegations that may or may not have been made to get some 'reality' and 'grit' out there.

Nowadays, these types of allegations are well nigh automatic in this situation.

It is unfortunate that it has come to this...

Maybe they should have a "Special Olympics" where all the participants are doped. Then comparisons could be made with undrugged humans. The pharmaceutical companies could gain valuable research from this endeavor.

When they make equestrian combat-course shooting an event, I'll pay attention to the Olympics.

I haven't watched one single, solitary minute of the ChiCom Olympics.

I've been tempted to check out the women's beach volleyball competition, though...
